Charles H. Cosper, Jr.

Public viewing for Charles H. Cosper, Jr., age 89, long-time Chickasha resident and husband of the late Helen Cosper, owner of Chickasha School of Dance, will be held from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm on Monday, November 4, 2019 at McRay Funeral Home.  There will be no services.  Cremation arrangements are with McRay Funeral Home.


Ruby Strnad

Graveside funeral service for Ruby Esther Strnad, 76, will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, November 1, 2019 in the New Amber Cemetery in Amber, OK.  There will be no viewing.  Arrangements are with McRay Funeral Home.


Paul Timothy Markham

Funeral service for Corporal Paul Markham, 46, of Rush Springs, Oklahoma will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday October 22, 2019 at Bible Baptist Church in Chickasha, Oklahoma.  Brother Kim Hayes will officiate.

Paul Timothy Markham was born the son of Edward Raymond Markham and Louise Mae Small Markham on May 24, 1973 in Exeter, New Hampshire.  He died on October 18, 2019 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Paul, a minister’s son, was a homeschool graduate of Lindenwood Academy High School in Arkansas.  He attended Maine Criminal Justice Academy before beginning his Law Enforcement career at the York County Maine Sheriff’s Department.  He married the love of his life, Dawn in February, 1995 in Berwick, Maine.  He attended Berean Bible Academy and served in Christian Ministry for 14 years while concurrently serving as a Law Enforcement Officer. After moving to Rush Springs, Paul served on the Rush Springs Police Department, beginning as a Patrol Officer and rising to the rank of Chief of Police where he continued serving the community for another 3 ½ years.  He joined the Grady County Sheriff’s Office in 2014 where he rose to the rank of Corporal.  He was a Field Training Officer for the Sheriff’s Office, sharing his common sense and wisdom, helping to prepare new Deputies for service.  Paul was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, camp, shoot and occasionally hike.  His family was of the utmost importance to him and he was a true and loyal friend.  Paul is widely known for his contagious smile and will be remembered for his cracking wise.

Paul was preceded in death by his father Edward Raymond Markham, Sr. and his brother Edward Raymond Markham, Jr.

Paul is survived by his wife Dawn Markham; son Kaleb Markham; daughter Christina Markham; mother Louise Markham; sister Roxanne Markham; one niece; one nephew; one great-niece and one great-nephew.

Interment will be in the Westview Cemetery in Rush Springs.  Services are under the direction of McRay Funeral Home.


Gary Bill Jones

Memorial service for Gary Bill Jones, 68, of Chickasha, OK will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, October 18, 2019 in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel.

Gary Bill Jones was born the son of Louis William Jones and Mary Rebecca Grady Jones on August 25, 1951. He died on October 14, 2019.

Gary graduated from Del City High School in 1969 after which he joined the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam War. Following his military service Gary went to work in the trailer industry which he did all of his life. He worked as a repairman, salesman, manager and then as the owner of his own business, Trailer Pro’s. 

Gary was preceded in death by his parents Louis (Bill) Jones and Mary Rebecca Jones and his brother Eldon W. Jones.

Gary is survived by his wife Sharon K. Jones; son Gary W. Jones; son John T. Jones; grandchildren Kiry, Nathan and Tyran; sister Marcia Jones; and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation arrangements are with McRay Funeral Home.


Roy Wayne Carter

Memorial service for Roy Wayne Carter, 73, of Ninnekah, OK will be held at 3:30 PM on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Southern Oaks Church of Christ. Ron Blankinship will officiate.

Roy Wayne Carter was born the son of Marion Grady Carter and Frances Carolyn Butts Carter on December 15, 1945 in Chickasha, OK.  He died on September 30, 2019 in Ninnekah, OK.

Wayne graduated from Chickasha High School and worked for a short time at Max’s Drive-In.  He married Judy Bauman soon after high school and they made their home in Chickasha.  He worked at the carpet factory in Anadarko for a few years before working at Chickasha Iron Works.  He eventually went to work for Stephens Oil Company as a truck driver, retiring with over 20 years of service.  He loved his family and especially enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Wayne was a member of Southern Oaks Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Wayne is survived by his wife Judy; daughter and husband Tricia Martin and Phil; daughter Traci Carter; grandchildren Brittany Guerrero, Kaci Harrington, Chase Martin, Alex Martin and Tyler Martin; great-grandchildren Hadley Ryans and Kaydin Ryans; brother and wife Bill Carter and Betty; sister Audie Carter; and numerous other family.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of McRay Funeral Home.
