Marieta Frances Raasch

Funeral service for Marieta Frances Raasch, 80, of Cement, OK will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Southern Oaks Church of Christ in Chickasha, OK.  Nathan Talbert will officiate and Scott Smiley will assist.

Marieta Frances (Rogers) Raasch was born to D M “Red” and Velma Rogers on July 6, 1943. She passed peacefully from this world on March 4, 2024, in Oklahoma City.

She married her grade school sweetheart, Gary Raasch, on Nov 14, 1960. They were blessed with 63 ½ years of marriage and built a legacy of love on their farm in Cement, Oklahoma. Marieta was a homemaker for many years while her children were young, and they ran a Dairy Farm. She worked in banking at The Bank of Cement and Chickasha Bank & Trust, followed by being a warranty clerk at Lacefield’s Chevrolet in Chickasha and later at Lawson’s Auto Mall in Lawton, where she retired in 2008.

She loved working outside in her flower beds, the garden, and being with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jack Rutledge, sister Reba Watkins, and grandson Evan Raasch.

She is survived by her loving husband Gary, sister Joyce Boyd, son David Raasch and wife Kim, daughter Robin Smiley and husband Scott, grandsons Tyson, Todd, Riley, and granddaughters Morgan and Taylor. She has 9 great-grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandson to be seen in April, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Interment will be in the Cement Cemetery in Cement, Oklahoma.  Services are under the direction of McRay Funeral Home.



Michael Lee Austin

A graveside service for Michael “Mike” Lee Austin, 67, of Chickasha, OK will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Fairlawn Cemetery with Kim Hays officiating.

Mike was born June 25, 1956, in Anadarko, OK, to Willard “Bill” and Carmen Austin. He passed from this life on March 3, 2024.

Mike grew up in Chickasha and graduated from Chickasha High School in 1974. He owned and ran Austin Construction for over 30 years.

Mike met the love of his life, Julie Black Christian, and they married December 9, 1983. They spent 40 wonderful years together. They had three daughters and one granddaughter. Mike loved his family fiercely.

Mike was preceded in death by both parents, brother Donnie Austin, sister-in-law Genny Christian, and mother-in-law Corene Black.

Loved ones left to remember are wife Julie Austin of the home; daughters Marci Reed and husband Adam of Chickasha, Lisa Austin of Chickasha, Madison Austin of Chickasha, granddaughter Savvy Austin, sister Rhonda Garza and husband Lorenzo of Chickasha, sister Cheryl Austin of Chickasha, brother-in-law Tim Christian and wife Susan, sister-in-law Betty Austin, along with many nieces and nephews.

Services are with McRay Funeral Home.
