James (Jim) Vernon Hall peacefully passed away at the age of 86 on June 11, 2020, surrounded by his family. He was born in Elk City, Oklahoma on December 31, 1933, to William Arthur and Carrie Kelly Hall. Jim graduated from Elk City High School where he was very active in many organizations and played in the marching band. He graduated from Oklahoma State University, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, and the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Dentistry. While in Kansas City, Jim met Carolyn Keane, and they married on April 13, 1963. In 1964, Jim and Carolyn moved to Chickasha, Oklahoma, where he opened and ran his dental practice for 42years. Jim and Carolyn had two sons, Joel Christopher and William Lance Hall. Jim was a long-time member of Epworth United Methodist Church where being part of the choir brought him great joy. Jim loved the Oklahoma Sooners and only missed attending football games when he became physically unable to attend. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, his three beloved sisters, Edith Hutson, Esther Stack and Helen Ferguson, and his brother, Lester Hall. Jim is survived by his wife of 57 years, his sons and their wives, Sarah and Shannan, and four grandchildren, Sarah Beth, Emma, Grace and Nate. Services will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Edmond, 1001 S. Rankin, Edmond, Oklahoma on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at 10:30 a.m. For those that cannot attend, services may be viewed via livestream on the “First Pres Edmond” app available for download. In lieu of flowers, tax deductible donations may be made to Mobile Meals of Chickasha, 1602 West Tennessee Avenue, Chickasha, Oklahoma 73018.
