Ted Allen Williams

Ted Allen Williams was born September 15, 1952, the first son of Al and Jane Williams, in Winchester, VA.  In 1953 Ted moved to Woodward, OK with his parents when his dad purchased the Polly Anna Café.  Ted attended and graduated from Woodward Public Schools from first through twelfth grade.  He played football, baseball and four years on Northwest Oklahoma American Legion Baseball Team.  Ted graduated from Woodward High School in 1970 and attended Oklahoma State University; graduating in 1975.  He was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity.

After graduating from OSU, Ted moved to Tulsa and worked for Scott Rice Office Supplies.  Ted owned and operated a Sonic in Tulsa for several years.  Ted worked for Dowell Well Oilfield Services for five years, living in Enid.  Ted and Tammie lived in Perry, OK for five years while working for Charles Machine Works (Ditch Witch).  Ted worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 14 years during the time he lived in Chickasha.

July 30, 1982 Ted married Tammie Smith in Woodward, OK.

Ted, Tammie and their three daughters lived and were very active in the Chickasha area for 25 years.  They moved to Borger, TX in 2013.  They have lived in Midland, TX for the last four years while working for Binyon Land Services.

Ted attended and was a member of the Chickasha First Baptist Church.  Ted was very proud and spent many hours watching, traveling and supporting his girls and wife during cheerleading competitions.  He had the ability to listen, and advise without judgement which allowed him the opportunity to lead people through different situations.  Ted always looked to make people laugh, whether it was pretending to be a circus clown on a unicycle or giving people a hard time.  His favorite tag line was “mind over matter,” or “plan your work, and work your plan.”  Ted always looked to help people put themselves in the best situations.

Relationships with others, no matter how new or old, were at the forefront of Ted’s mind.  Keeping in personal touch with friends from high school, his American Legion team, Sigma Nu fraternity brothers, Ditch Witch, the Union Pacific Railroad team members, and more recently the team members of Binyon Land Services was the special gift of loving and caring for others that Ted always carried with him.

Ted is preceded in death by his father Al Williams, October 26, 2019.

Ted is survived by his wife Tammie of the home; daughter and son-in-law Bridget and RC Babione of St. Louis, MO; daughter and son-in-law Andrea and Bobby Roe of Edmond, OK; daughter Kara Williams of Branson, MO; mother Jane Williams of Woodward, OK; grandchildren Caleb, Joshua, Isaac, Micaiah Babione, Khyber and Cade Roe; brothers Lyndon Williams of Tulsa, OK and Lance Williams of Woodward, OK; sister and brother-in-law Donna and Ronnie White of Mooreland, OK; sister Vicki Williams of Tulsa, OK; sisters-in-law and their husbands Abby and Steve LaForge and Merita and Dennis Beaty all of Chickasha, OK; several nieces, nephews, cousins and several close high school friends.

Services will be held at 1:30 pm, Monday, January 6, 2020 at Chickasha First Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Butler officiating.
