Albert Johnson “AJ” Pearcy
Albert J. “A.J.” Pearcy, 83, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 19, 2020. He was surrounded by family and friends who loved him dearly.
A.J. was born October 9, 1936 in Amber, OK to R.H. and Verda Dudgen Pearcy. He was the sixth of eight children.
A.J. graduated from Pioneer school in 1955. From there he enlisted in the Air Force where he served four years from 1956 to 1960. After leaving the Air Force, he went to work at Tinker Air Force Base where he spent 30 ½ years as a radar repairman. One of his major accomplishments while at Tinker was when he was featured in Popular Science Magazine for his work on the first laser.
A.J. married the love of his life, June West, on July 29, 1960 and would have celebrated 60 years this July. They were faithful members of the church and worked diligently at Pettijohn Youth Camp. Together, they set an example of true servants.
A.J. was a special combination of joy, love, compassion and strength. He taught many lessons from his great example.
A.J. was preceded in death by his dad R.H. Pearcy, mom Verda Pearcy, four sisters, one brother and one son-in-law, Justin Giddens.
Survivors include his wife June West Pearcy; daughter Robin Giddens; daughter and son-in-law Tammy and Jerry Patrick; daughter April Schwenn; daughter and son-in-law Cindy and Eddie Lee; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law Tommy and Gladys Pearcy; sister and brother-in-law Mary and Rudy Pfeiffer and numerous other family members.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be Monday, February 24, 2020 at 6:30 in the evening at the Southern Oaks Church of Christ.
