Sharan Kay Kennedy

Funeral service for Sharan (Allen) Kennedy will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, February 24, 2020 at the Pocasset First Baptist Church.

Sharan Kay (Allen) Kennedy, 73, was born on August 3, 1946 to Walter Ray and Maxine (Ragsdale) Allen.  She went to her heavenly home on February 20, 2020 in Oklahoma City, OK.

Sharan went to Bridge Creek schools until the 8th grade.  Then she chose to attend Amber High School.  She graduated from Amber in 1964.  Her letterman jacket now hangs in the new Amber-Pocasset High School Gym.  After high school she married her high school sweetheart Wesley Gene Kennedy.  Through this union they were blessed with five children and ten grandchildren.  Sharan was a babysitter for many years.  She was known to have up to 15-20 kids in her house at any given time.  She loved all the children that she kept.  In 1987 she was given the opportunity to be a cook at Amber-Pocasset Elementary.  She cooked for 20 years.  After retirement she enjoyed being “Grammy” to her grandkids.  Sharan and Wesley enjoyed watching their children and grandchildren in all their activities.  Showing lambs was definitely a family favorite.  Grammy loved cheering for her grandkids.  Sharan was known best as a wonderful cook and baker.  She blessed many students and teachers with her cooking.  Everyone has their favorite food that she would make upon request.  Sharon was proud of her family and her faith in the Lord.  She was a kind and sweet Christian lady.  She always had a smile on her face.  She was a member of SonRise Baptist Church.

Sharan was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wesley, her precious grandson Blake Ryan Kennedy, one son-in-law J.R. McComas, brother-in-law Verl Kennedy and sister-in-law Betty Beam.
