Linda Jean Raikes
Linda Jean Raikes, age 77, was born the daughter of Virgil and Sybil Scott on July 14, 1943, in Chickasha, OK. She died on December 26, 2020 in Oklahoma City.
There will be no service. Private interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Minco, OK under the direction of McRay Funeral Home.
Graveside service for Bobby James, age 31 of Chickasha will be held at 2pm Wednesday December 23, 2020.
Bobby James was a kind fun and loving husband and father. He was an amazing friend. He loved all of his family. He loved wrestling and fishing, but most of all he loved to make people laugh and smile. He had a kind heart. Bobby James is survived by his wife Toniua James, his sons Cayden James and Andrew Mendiola, several cousins and several aunts and uncles, his grandmother on father's side, his dad Ron Carr, and his sister and his step mom Anita McDonald. Bobby is truly loved and will be missed. He is gone to heaven but he will never be forgotten.

Petra Ramirez Tello Romero
Petra Ramirez Tello Romero was born 10/19/1944 in Puertecitos, San Luis Potosí, Mexico to Manuel Tello and Maria Dolores Ramirez.
She married Juan Mata in Tamasopo, San Luis Potosí. They had three children; Oralia, Jorge, and Jaime Mata and raised them in Puertecitos. Petra left her children with her mother so she could work. She worked in Reynosa Tamaulipas as a housekeeper and in 1979 found work in Houston, TX where she met Ramón Romero Sr. They moved to Alex, OK and she ultimately made her home in Chickasha where she raised their son, Ramón Romero Jr. and worked as a kitchen aid at Convalescent Center of Grady County.
She suffered a major stroke in 1996 with many more medical complications following. Despite her health, she never stopped being a hard worker. She looked after her home and worked in her 1 acre yard daily. Her favorite past time was watching sports but her heart belonged to the Houston Astros. She rarely missed a game and often, her and Ramón Jr. would watch a game together.
Her children, grand children, and great grand children were her pride and joy. She enjoyed cooking for them and her tamales are unmatched. She looked forward to Sunday church and read her bible and devotional daily.
She is survived by her children; Oralia Delong and Russell Delong; Jorge and Maria Mata; Jaime and Veronica Mata; and Ramón and Marisela Romero. Grandchildren; Janeth Mata, Sarah Romero and spouse Curtis Romero, Amanda Delong and Jerry Simington, Jorge Mata Jr., Jaime Mata Jr., Ramiro Mata, Angelica Mata, Leticia Romero, Vanessa Delong, Juan Antonio Mata, Jacob Delong, Jessica Mata, Joshua Delong, Jennifer Mata, Veronica Mata, and Lilly Romero. Great grandchildren; Layton Romero, Jaylee Simington, Rain Romero, Kali Simington, Aieden Mata, and Roxanne Simington.
Shawn Dale Singleton
Shawn Dale Singleton was born to Judy Martin Singleton and Larry Dale Singleton on March 3, 1970 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He entered Heavens gates on December 16, 2020 at Grady Memorial Hospital in Chickasha, OK after a hard fought battle of Covid-19.
Shawn attended Verden Public Schools from Kindergarten thru 12th grade. He graduated with the class of 1989. Shawn attended college at Redlands in El Reno and SWOSU in Weatherford. Shawn worked in the oilfield for over 25 years most of the time with H&P. Shawn married the love of his life Tracey Lynn Burkhead on December 30, 1995 in Verden, OK. They were going to celebrate 25 years of marriage this month. They made their home and farmed on the family farm near Cogar, OK.
He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law Linda Kibby Burkhead, niece Danika Lou Harris, parental grandparents Walter & Myrtle Singleton, and maternal grandparents Herbert & Dorthy Martin.
Shawn is survived by his wife Tracey of the home, Chase Singleton a recent graduate of Oklahoma State University and lives in Edmond, OK, Chance Singleton a student of Oklahoma State University and serves with the Army National Guard and his baby girl Chelsey of the home.
Shawn is survived by his parents Larry & Judy of Pocasset, father-in-law Royce Burkhead and wife Patty of Verden, OK, sister Shana Singleton of Verden, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Donitta & Dylan Harris of Pocasset, brother-in-law Greg Burkhead of Kansas, nieces & nephews Colton & Shaylea Haxton, Devynn & Delaney Harris, Courtney, Brayden, and Haley Barr-Burkhead, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Private services will be at 2pm Monday December 21, 2020 at First Baptist Church Pocasset. David Treadaway will officiate assisted by Dwayne McGhghy.
Interment will be in Verden Cemetery. Services are under the direction of McRay Funeral Home.
Robert Freeman Duvall
Graveside service for Robert Freeman Duvall, 66, of Minco, will be held on Friday, Dec. 18th at 2 pm at the Evergreen Cemetery in Minco, Ok. Burial will be under the direction of McRay Funeral Home of Chickasha.
Robert 'Coach' Duvall passed away on Friday, Dec. 11th at Grady Memorial Hospital in Chickasha (from complications due to COVID-19).
Robert Duvall was born on June 9, 1954, in Altus, Oklahoma to Leroy and Maybelle Duvall. He graduated from Tipton High School in 1972. He attended college in Weatherford obtaining a Master's degree in Education. He married his high school sweetheart, Dana Beth Hasley, on August 10, 1974. He coached basketball, football, and baseball as well as taught history and driver's education over the course of five decades. Throughout his career, Coach Duvall was fortunate to serve students and athletes in Ft. Supply, Dill City, Merritt, Minco, and Union City.
He was a member of the Hazel Dell Baptist Church in Minco. He had retired for a few years; however, when a call came to return to the court, he didn't hesitate to say yes. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, but above all, spending time with his grandkids. His grandkids were his world and he beamed with pride telling stories about their adventures together.
He is survived by his wife Dana Beth of the home; his son, Brad Duvall and wife Lyndi of Minco; his daughter, Kari England and husband Cole of Piedmont; and four grandchildren, Addison, Mason, Justin, and Bryn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been created at the First National Bank of Minco. It is the family’s intent to set up a scholarship in Coach’s honor for future student-athletes.
Sandra Donna Darlene Ford Murray
Graveside funeral service for Sandra Donna Darlene Ford Murray, 74, of Chickasha, OK will be held at 10:00am, Friday, December 11, 2020 at Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha. Rev. Steve Murray will officiate.
Sandra was born on August 1, 1946 in Chickasha. She passed on December 7, 2020 in Chickasha.
Sandra was raised in Chickasha where she was a member of First Baptist Church and graduated from Chickasha High School. She studied at USAO in Arts and Photography and was a member of a local sorority. Her career started at South Western Bell Telephone. She worked later at Public Service of Oklahoma, Arkla Gas Company and finally at Grady County District 2 from which she retired in 2017. She married Tommy Murray on April 23, 1994. She enjoyed roller skating in her younger days. She loved Elvis memorabilia and antiques. She also collected Barbie Dolls.
Sandra was preceded in death by her father and mother Russell and May Belle Ford and her husband Tommy Murray.
She is survived by her cousin Sharon Williams and several second cousins.
Arrangements are with McRay Funeral Home.
Felicia Irene McConnell
Felicia Irene McConnell, 59, of Alex, Oklahoma passed away on December 5, 2020.
Felicia was born in Cyril, Oklahoma on July 1, 1961, the daughter of Margaritt Faye Miller. Felicia grew up on a farm near Lake Burtschi where she loved spending time with her granny and grandpa. She graduated from Cement High School in 1979 and also attended Caddo-Kiowa Vo-tech. After high school, Felicia went to work for MCSA in Fletcher, OK. In 1983, Felicia married the love of her life, Malcolm Dean McConnell of Alex, Oklahoma. Once married, her and Malcolm lived on her family's farm before moving to Chickasha and later settling down in Alex. Felicia became a homemaker in 2005 spending her time caring for her family and later on welcoming her grandchildren. Felicia loved her family more than life itself and taking trips to the lake with them was her favorite pastime.
Felicia was preceded in death by her mother Margaritt Faye Miller; grandparents A.J. and Lorene Hughes Stancil; sister Veda "Ruth" Watanabe; brother Steve Miller; and brother Johnny W. Miller.
Survivors include husband Malcolm; son and daughter-in-law Casey and Patrisha McConnell; daughter and son-in-law Rebecca and Marcus Nieto all of Alex. Grandchildren Kayelynn McConnell, Blake and Jaycee Dominguez, Kaden Thompson, Cameron and Ryne Nieto; Brother Johnny B. Miller of Chickasha; Brother David Miller of Navarre, FL.; as well as many other extended family members.
Funeral services will be graveside only held at Laverty Cemetery on December 9, 2020 at 3:30pm under the direction of McRay Funeral Home.
Diana Gail (Miracle) Callahan
Funeral service for Diana Gail (Miracle) Callahan will be held at 10:30am, Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Pocasset First Baptist Church. Reverend Tommy Eastep and Reverend Russell Cheek will officiate. Masks are required.
Diana Gail (Miracle) Callahan, age 70, of Chickasha passed away December 4th at her home. She was the daughter of the late John Henry Miracle and Margie Marie (Scott) Miracle.
In 1965 she married Wesley Ray Callahan and they had two children. A girl born on Mother’s Day and two years later a son born on Father’s Day.
Diana was a stay at home mom until her children graduated then she went to work at the Canadian Valley Technology Center where she worked until she retired. She was a woman who wore many hats: Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Gigi, bus driver and world traveler. She was an Exchange Student host and loved it so much she would often visit the students in their home countries.
Diana never met a stranger and had a willingness to help others, from something as simple as a daily phone call to ensure you were doing okay, providing rides to doctor appointments, picking up groceries and babysitting at a moment’s notice.
She is survived by her husband Wesley Callahan. One daughter Janice and husband Ronnie Haney, one son Kevin and wife Marsha Callahan. Six grandchildren: Brittany Callahan, Klarissa Nightingale, Kandice Doan, Kutter Haney, Alexia Callahan and Aiden Callahan. Eight great grandchildren: Lanna, Jocelyn, Kally, Brant Nightingale; Rozalyn, Izabelle, Ainzley Doan and Timothy Braxton Jones. Brothers: Johnny and wife Barbara, Larry and wife Janie, Earl and wife Jeanette Miracle. Sisters; Georgia Ferrell, Sherry and husband Roger Bradford and Sister in law Ailene Miracle.
The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 from 4:00 to 7:00pm at McRay Funeral Home.
Interment will be in the Amber Cemetery. Arrangements are with McRay Funeral Home.
Edna Gay Blevins
Funeral service for Edna Gay Blevins, 103, of Verden, OK will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, December 5, 2020 at the Pentecostal Lighthouse Church in Verden, OK. Rev. Ed Whitley will officiate.
Edna was born the daughter of Jerome and Anna Melot on October 7, 1917 in Wanette, OK on the former Citizen Band Potawatomi Reservation. She died on December 1, 2020 in Sulphur, OK.
Edna married her husband Denver Blevins on May 21, 1935. The couple moved to Verden in 1953 where they raised their three sons Wesley, Tony and James. During her life she served others as a homemaker and an active member of her church. She was known for being an excellent cook. The oldest member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, Edna enjoyed being on the go and looking at the scenery along the back roads of Oklahoma.
Edna was preceded in death by her husband Denver Blevins; parents Anna and Jerome Melot; son and daughter-in-law Wesley and Georgia Blevins; grandson Cory Blevins; and siblings Wanda, Roy, Ruth, Thelma and Vera.
Edna is survived by her son Tony Blevins and wife Juanita of Globe, AZ; son James Blevins of Verden, OK; grandson Terry Blevins and wife Darling of Los Angeles, CA; grandson Rodney Blevins and wife Jolanda of Colorado Springs, CO; grandson Neal Blevins of Verden, OK; grandson Andy Blevins and wife Jennifer of Verden, OK; grandson Denver Blevins of Verden, OK; granddaughter Brandy Roller and husband Quinton of Sulphur, OK; 11 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and special friend Karen Wilkerson of Chickasha, OK.
Interment will be in the Verden Cemetery. Arrangements are with McRay Funeral Home.
